Philosophy
“In whatever one does, there must be a relationship between the eye and the heart. With the one eye that is closed, one looks within, with the other eye that is open, one looks without.” - Henri Cartiér-Bresson
When I see beauty in something that my heart responds to, I take a photograph. When a photograph ‘works’, I see that beauty all over again and my life is enriched. In your daily life, I encourage you to pay attention to what opens this relationship between the eye and the heart for you.
Style
Focuses particularly, but not exclusively, on elements in nature.
Technique
Uses both film (usually slides) and digital and have most of my work printed on archival quality watercolour paper.
Background
Anne has always loved taking photographs, starting with her Brownie box camera in the 1960’s. While earning her living as a lawyer for many years, she pursued her love of photography. Four years ago she committed herself more seriously to photography and launched her business, Serenity Images. She exhibited for 3 years at Harris & Co. Gallery in Musquodoboit Harbour, NS.
