ViewPoint Gallery is comprised of two main exhibition spaces: Gallery A (for solo or group exhibitions by members or guest artists) and Gallery B (for monthly member exhibitions). New exhibitions in both galleries are held monthly, year round.

Gallery A is designated for solo or group exhibitions by ViewPoint members or guest artists distributed approximately as follows:
1. 1-2 group exhibitions by ViewPoint Gallery members 2. 8 or 9 solo or joint exhibitions by ViewPoint Gallery members 3. 2 curated and/or external artist exhibitions (see below).
GUEST SUBMISSIONS: EXTERNAL OR CURATED
Exhibition Months: February and September. Deadlines: April 30 and Oct 30 of year previous to intended exhibition. Notes : International submissions are welcome.
ViewPoint Gallery does not accept submissions by fax or email. Please label your submission package: Guest Submission. C/O Exhibition Committee
Please include a self-addressed envelope (SASE) with sufficient return postage. Without an SASE we will not return submission packages and will dispose of submission materials appropriately.
CONTENTS:
A maximum of twenty digital images (CD/DVD must be readable on MAC OSX) representing a recent body of work or a specific project. Digital images should be: RGB, jpeg format no larger than 1024 x 768 pixels at 300 dpi. They should be numbered 01 to 20 (01_tree, 02_house, 03_car etc.). Working professional proofs are also accepted but, please note, ViewPoint Gallery does not accept original artwork.
An image list indicating title, year, medium and dimensions (framed and unframed).
An artist's statement or other written description describing the purpose and context of the work.
A curriculum vitae, resume or biography.
A physical description of the proposed exhibition, including the number of works, the space required and any unusual installation requirements. Gallery A (62 running feet).
Note: Gallery B is not normally available for solo or group exhibitions. Artists can request the additional space of Gallery B but must do so, in writing, as part of the initial submission. In such requests, the onus is on the artist to persuade the Exhibition Committee that the additional space is essential to the integrity of the exhibition. In addition, the Exhibition Committee will weigh the pros and cons to Gallery members of granting such a request.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Gallery provides all press materials, arranges for interviws, artist talk and the opening reception. Clippings of reviews as well as invitations will be provided to the artist(s).
The artist(s) is (are) responsible for shipping the artwork, insurance and any related travel costs. Artist(s) are obliged to give an artist talk, preferably in person (Skype is a viable option), on the second Sunday of the exhibition at 2 p.m. at the Gallery.
As a non-profit organization the Gallery is currently unable to pay artist fees.
Artist(s) may be billeted with Gallery members during their stay in Halifax.
