"Metamorphosis" is not intended to denote any taxonomy of rocks, but rather to evoke the transformations that give geological features their visual impact.
According to Colin: "It is precisely the process of change that gives or reveals the colour, texture, and form that make rock so compelling a subject for art photography." The majority of prints in the exhibit were captured in Nova Scotia - from Brier Island to Cape Breton Island as well as the American Southwest.
Colour and black and white prints are included in this powerful exhibition. "When processing my later images, I found I could more dramatically reveal the textures I was looking for - the moody ruggedness of our coastline - with a monochromatic approach."
