Artist:Eric Boutilier-Brown Exhibition: May 1st - June 3rd Opening Reception: Thursday, May 3rd, 6-9pm Artist Talk: Sunday, May 13th, 2pm
This exhibition focuses on Eric Boutilier-Brown's 21 years of work with film and digital infrared photography. The magic of infrared photography is rooted in how different it can make the familiar appear; it can create images that are dreamlike, if not outright surreal. Although it is over a century old, infrared photography still remains a relatively obscure corner of the photographic world. From experiments in 1991, to Eric's work between 1998 and 2003 - when infrared became a cornerstones of his creative process - to today, when Eric works with a digital infrared camera, there have been few directions that his work has taken that have not been explored by the surreal beauty of infrared photography.
