“Sightings”, an exhibition by B.C. based artist Ella Morton, is a series of pinhole photographs dealing with the unknown and mysterious phenomena. The images depict eerie scenes featuring people confronted with the unknown. The exhibition will also feature an audio component.
"These photographs are stagings of people witnessing mysterious phenomena from UFOs or other unexplainable happenings. Photographic evidence by witnesses of paranormal events generally appears blurry and haphazard, especially the many pixelated "sighting" pictures online. Morton uses the indistinct quality of pinhole photography to mirror the ambiguity of UFO snapshots in the news in order to investigate what the confrontation between individual and supernatural may look like."
